Middle East Media and Policy Studies Institute
It was established in Amman to provide a thorough and accurate understanding of the challenges facing the process of political reform and democratic transition in Jordan and the Arab countries, deepen the values of citizenship and human rights, and strengthen the concept of media freedom.
MEMPSI also aims to expand citizens’ political participation, promote freedom of the press and the independence of the media, and advance the “right to know” and public information access.
The institute prepares research, studies, reports, and policy papers, conducting exploratory and survey studies and establishing country-specific press freedom observatories.
In addition, we advance our vision by engaging leaders in political parties, civil society institutions, youth movements, and women’s organizations.
MEMPSI training and seminars build institutional capacities, internal democratic practice, alliances, and coalitions, creating informed and interconnected networks that share expertise and mobilize to identify and support the best regional and international approaches to advance a collective vision.
