Israeli occupation forces brutally attacked the funeral procession of martyr Shireen Abu Akleh from the French Hospital in occupied Jerusalem, according to Al–Mamlaka TV.
According to AFP, Israeli occupation forces prevented mourners from carrying the casket of slain Al Jazeera journalist Abu Akleh which was set to be transported in a walking procession to a church and then her resting place, in Jerusalem.
The Palestinian news agency, Wafa, reported that Israeli forces also prevented young men from hanging pictures and banners of Abu Akleh. Israeli police detained flags, posters, and banners — many which denounced her killing by Israeli forces and stated that it was an assassination — from in front of the Roman Catholic Church, where her funeral will be held.
The agency added that the occupation imposed malicious violations against Palestinians in the vicinity of the French hospital in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
Occupation authorities also set up a barrier on the street leading to the French hospital and spread widely across the hospitals surroundings.
