“Middle East Media and policy Studies Institute condemns Israeli targeting of Gaza journalists.”

The Middle East Media and policy Studies Institute (MEMPSI) condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of journalists in Palestine and on Gaza Strip in specifically. 

The institute stated in its statement that the targeting of journalists and media workers is aimed at concealing the facts related to media coverage of the events that have been unfolding since last Saturday morning.

The institute stated explained in the statement that Israeli occupation aircraft targeted journalists and workers in media, leading to the martyrdom of seven of them during their coverage the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the injury of dozens of them.

The institute called on international entities to an immediate cessation of hostilities in the region and protection for journalists. It emphasized the importance of compliance with international law and agreements that related to the protection of journalists.

The institute reaffirmed its support for journalists in all media institutions in Palestine and the Gaza Strip.

The institute stated in the statement that the ongoing targeting of journalists constitutes a flagrant violation of basic human rights and international laws.

The institute announced its solidarity with journalists who are performing their professional duties under challenging conditions to deliver the truth to the public and international community.
